It happens sometimes, and it makes us feel all of the things: clients pull out. They bail on us, they ghost us, they don’t do the work. You might not hear people say it very often but this happens *to everyone*
I’m not joking…the coaches you see in Facebook groups and all across Instagram, it’s happened to them too.
It’s important to remember that you are not for everyone. And sometimes it takes a little bit to actually work that out…
Picture this: someone has said yes to working with you, in a group program to 1:1 coaching container or whatever else you offer as a way to work together and impart your badass lightworker wisdom to your clients. At first you think hmmm, are they the right fit? But you bat these questions away and shout over them because you’re riding the high of being seen, being hired and getting paid. And then lo and behold a couple months in they stop showing up; they’re not communicating or they’re bouncing on invoices because THEY’RE NOT THE RIGHT FIT.
It’s happened to me before. And it’s going to happen to you one day so I want to give you the tools for dealing with the feelings that come alongside it… Every single time it has happened to me it’s for one of two reasons: because my energy needed more space to be supported, or because I shouldn’t have said yet in the first place for reasons I’ve ignored, disregarding my intuition for the sake of being seen.
You have to remember that the Universe and your angels and your spirit guides will always allow what is meant to be, will be. The reason those clients bailed on me is because it wasn’t meant to be in the first place – I wasn’t meant to have it.
Repeat after me: if it’s not this, then it’s something better.
When the inevitable does happen, don’t spiral and think it’s all about you. It’s to do with *them* and their needs, and if it’s not that then it’s simply a blessing making way for a new (and better!) opportunity…
Back in the day I had new 1:1 clients coming through every month. Then it stopped – and I was sitting there wondering why everything seemed to have dried up but it just meant that I had no space to fit them in. How can you support others when you have no space to do so?! Duh, no wonder the Universe wasn’t dropping any new clients my way…
This provided the perfect opportunity for me to reflect – to recognise my own worth, and to go up against the edges where I was feeling rejected or thinking I didn’t deliver. These periods of reflection allowed me to realise that there is no point in over-delivering beyond your means or ability just to secure a client that might not even be right for you.
I have also realised something super interesting: the occasions when this has happened have been during times when I have been in a transition phase when it comes to pricing. I would be in the process of raising my price from say $12k to $15k, and instead of going in with my higher price when somebody enquired I would just offer them the existing lower price. I wasn’t backing myself and my new prices. In my experience, the clients who have said yes to my higher prices are my dream clients: they show up, they do the work, they stick around.
So – be prepared for the fact that one day, a client is gonna bail on you. It’s not a reflection on you and your gift and the work that you do. Back yourself, you badass bitch. And get ahead by signing up to my FREE 2-part masterclass, the Prosperous Light Leader!!! We kick off on May 30th with the first of two live calls.
